The deaths took place across three districts in Ondo State, located in southwestern Nigeria. The toxic beverage is a locally brewed concoction reportedly known as 'Monkey Tail.' Methanol, a highly toxic industrial alcohol, can cause blindness, organ failure, and death even when consumed in small quantities. Authorities are investigating the source of the contamination and have issued warnings to the public against consuming unregulated local brews. The incident highlights the ongoing dangers posed by illicit and unregulated alcohol production in parts of West Africa.

Willemstad police are managing multiple active investigations simultaneously, reflecting a busy period for law enforcement on the island. A minor has been arrested in connection with a theft case, marking one of several incidents currently being handled. A student was separately detained after allegedly being found in possession of a knife, raising concerns about youth safety and weapons on or near school grounds.
