MEP Demands Transparency and Action on New Wastewater Plant for Aruba

MEP party leader Evelyn Wever-Croes held a weekly press conference urging urgent attention to the ongoing crisis at Aruba's Bubali wastewater treatment facility, known as AWSS (Aruba Wastewater Sustainable Solutions). Wever-Croes highlighted that after 550 days of the current AVP-Futuro coalition government, the crisis surrounding the Bubali plant remains unresolved and is reportedly worsening. She called on the government to demonstrate transparency and take concrete action toward building a new wastewater treatment facility. The AWSS plant plays a critical role in managing Aruba's wastewater infrastructure, making its deteriorating condition a matter of public health and environmental concern. MEP, currently in opposition, is using the issue to press the ruling coalition on what it characterizes as neglect of essential public infrastructure. The continued failure to address the plant's condition raises questions about the government's long-term environmental and utility management priorities.
