Tourist Found Dead at Spaanse Water After Intensive Search

A tourist was found dead in the early morning hours at Spaanse Water, a popular lagoon on the southern coast of Curaçao, following an intensive overnight search. Police and the Coast Guard launched the search the previous evening and located the victim's lifeless body pinned beneath a rock. According to information received by Extra Curaçao, the tourist had been staying aboard a yacht or catamaran moored in the Spaanse Water. The circumstances surrounding how the individual came to be trapped under the rock remain under investigation. The incident marks a tragic end to what began as a missing person search in one of Curaçao's most frequented recreational waterways. Spaanse Water is a well-known destination for sailing and water sports, attracting both locals and visiting boaters. Authorities have not yet released the identity or nationality of the deceased tourist.
