AVP's Bermudez Calls for Unity and Preparation Amid Generational Shift

Aruba Volkspartij (AVP) parliamentarian ir. Carlos Bermudez delivered a keynote message at the AVP 2026 Congress, held at the Marriott Ballroom in Aruba. Bermudez emphasized that while times are changing and a generational shift in leadership is underway, the party must not abandon its core commitments to preparation, dialogue, and unity. His remarks appeared aimed at steadying the party as it navigates internal transitions ahead of future electoral cycles. The congress setting underscored the AVP's effort to formally organize and align its membership around a shared vision for 2026. Bermudez's call for continuity alongside change reflects a broader theme within the party of balancing fresh leadership with institutional experience. The event signals that the AVP is actively mobilizing and setting its strategic tone well in advance of the next election.
