His research, titled 'Spatial Patterns of Chlorophyll-a in Relation to Gradients of Human Activity in Aruban Coastal Waters,' examines how human activity affects chlorophyll-a concentrations along Aruba's coastline. Chlorophyll-a is a key indicator of water quality and algal growth, often used to assess the ecological health of coastal marine environments. The study maps spatial patterns across different coastal zones, providing insight into how urbanization, tourism, and other human pressures may be influencing Aruba's surrounding waters. This type of research is significant for an island heavily dependent on tourism and marine resources, as it can inform environmental policy and coastal management decisions.
