Caribbean Union of Teachers Wraps 2026 Executive Meeting in Trinidad

The Caribbean Union of Teachers (CUT), an umbrella organization representing more than 26 teachers' unions across the English-, French-, and Dutch-speaking Caribbean, successfully concluded its 2026 Executive Meeting in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago from July 13–15, 2026. The meeting was hosted by the Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers' Association. Among the key outcomes was the election of a new First Vice President, marking a significant leadership development for the regional body. The meeting also produced a landmark partnership agreement with Cipriani College, which is expected to expand professional development and educational opportunities for teachers across the Caribbean. The CUT's broad membership base makes its executive decisions consequential for education policy and labor representation throughout the region. The successful conclusion of the meeting signals organizational momentum heading into the second half of 2026.
